Ms. A’Vae Elise Terry of South Boston, VA died on Monday, April 5th at the age of 20.

Ms. Terry was born in Halifax County, VA on January 7, 2001 to Mrs. Karen Terry Staten (Ralph) and Steven Leigh. She was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

Ms. Terry is survived by her parents: Karen and Ralph Staten of South Boston, VA and Steven Leigh; (2) brothers: Marcus Terry (Jalexus) and Kareem Staten; (2) sisters: Kaye’ Leigh Terry and Simone Staten, all of South Boston, VA; maternal grandparents: Alphonso and Willie Terry; paternal grandparents: James and Dianne Venable, all of South Boston, VA; uncle: Alphonso Terry, Jr. (Patricia); (1) nephew: Ashton Ja’Marcus Terry;  god mother: Catrice Hairston and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents: Jimmy D. and Gracie Terry.

Graveside services for Ms. A'Vae Elise Terry will be held on Saturday, April 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Wilkerson, eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Following Covid-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing is required.
