Mrs. Barbara Jean Garland Brown died Sunday, January 23rd at the age of 78.

Mrs. Brown was born in South Boston, VA on November 27, 1943 to the late Peter Boxley and Margaret Garland. She was married to Brady Brown, Sr. of Danville, VA.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband: Brady Brown, Sr. of the Danville, VA; (1) daughter: Ianthia “Ann” Johnson; a stepson: Brady Brown, Jr; (5) sisters: Carolyn Clark, Evelyn “Diane” Clark, Deborah Lovelace, all of South Boston, VA, Peggy Garland Collazo of Fayetteville, NC and Cheryl Garland of Richmond, VA; (3) grandsons; (2) great grandchildren; (1) sister-in-law: Connie Wright; (1) son-in-law: Harvey Johnson; (2) brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews other relates and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: Edison Lee Garland; (4) brothers: Charlie Garland, Curtis Garland, Robert Lee Garland and Larry Garland; and (1) sister: Lauren “Loretta” Garland.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Jean Garland Brown will be Wednesday, February 2nd at 1 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop John Williams, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Rose Garden Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. A face mask and social distancing will be required at the service.
