Mr. Barry Cee Staten of South Boston, VA died on Tuesday, April 13th in South Boston, VA at the age of 56.

Mr. Staten was born March 30, 1965 in Charlotte County, VA to the late Mr. Willie A. Staten and Mrs. Lucinda B. Staten. He was married to Mrs. Peggy Claiborne Staten and was a member of First Baptist Church, Chase City, VA. He was formerly employed with J.B. Steven's in Drakes Branch, VA, IRS Branch in Philadelphia, PA and Dollar General Warehouse.

Mr. Staten is survived by his wife: Peggy Staten of the home; (3) sons: Rashan J. Staten of Philadelphia, PA, Demarco S. Andrews of Charlotte Courthouse, VA, and Darius K. Robertson of Dublin, VA; (2) grandchildren: Zarie’yah A. Powell and Keagan S. Andrews; (2) brothers: Ray A. Staten of Red Oak, VA and Alexander Wilson; (2) sisters: Gina Staten and Audrey Pleasant (Les), all of Chase City, VA; (1) god brother: Joey Venable, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) daughter: Barbara Lucinda Staten; (2) brothers: a twin Gary Lee Staten and Willie DeCarlo Staten; paternal grandparents: Charlie and Bessie Staten; maternal grandparents: Richard and Mary Brooks; and a nephew: Lester J. Pleasant.

Graveside services for Mr. Barry Cee Staten will be held on Friday, April 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Saxe, VA with eulogist Rev. Ronnie Haynes.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Following covid-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing is required.
