Mr. Bernard Odell Williams of Union Grove Road, South Boston, VA died Tuesday, October 5th at the age of 78.

Mr. Williams was born in Halifax County on August 1, 1943 to the late Thomas Rudolph Williams and Beatrice Tucker Williams. He was married to Elsie Reed Williams and was a member of Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife: Elsie R. Williams of the home; (4) children: Terry Williams (Rose) of Georgia, Iris Logan (Anthony Coleman) of Halifax, VA, Anthony Williams of South Boston, VA and Costello Williams of Danville, VA; (12) grandchildren including Jahmek, KatRieq, Kalek and JahRieq Williams, all of the home; (12) great grandchildren; (4) siblings: Catherine Williams, Grady Chandler (Aldoro), all of Halifax, VA, Herbert Williams of Ohio, and Joyce Winters (Lawrence); (22) foster children; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) sister: Alease Carter and (1) brother: Thomas Rudolph Williams, Jr.

Graveside service for Mr. Bernard Odell Williams will be Thursday, October 14th at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church with Rev. Evon Bush, eulogist.

Public viewing family and friends will be Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
