Mrs. Bertha Mary Rogers of South Boston, VA died Thursday, December 1st at the age of 82.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Halifax County, VA on July 5, 1940 to the late Albert Nick Stanfield and Bertha McCargo Stanfield and was married to the late James Lowell Rogers. She was a member of Jeter Chapel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by (1) son: Anthony A. Rogers of South Boston, VA; (1) daughter: Rosa R. Harris of South Boston, VA; (1) daughter-in-law: Carnelia Rogers of South Boston, VA; (2) brothers: Albert H. Stanfield (Betty) and Jerome L. Stanfield, all of South Boston, VA; (6) sisters: Marjorie Carrington (Jack), Karen C. Carden(Garfield), all of Newport News, VA, Atha Ridges (James) of Bronx, NY, Lucille Luster of Temple, TX, Mary M. Walton of Fort Lauderdale, FL. and Geraldine Mason of Salisbury, MD.; (1) sister-in-law; (1) brother-in-law; (6) grandchildren; (6) great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: Stacey Harrison Rogers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Mary Rogers will be held Saturday, December 10th at 11 a.m. at Jeter Chapel Baptist Church with Bishop Earl Purvis, eulogist. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral home Chapel.
