Mr. Bobbie Ray Chappell of Halifax died Monday, April 12th at the age of 85.

Mr. Chappell was born in Halifax County, VA on December 7, 1935 to the late Mr. Earnest Chappell and Mrs. Irene Chappell. He was married to the late Mrs. Mamie Elizabeth Chappell and was a contractor providing professional painting service.

Mr. Chappell is survived by: (4) brothers: John Chappell, Alexander (Gloria), Michael Chappell and Ronald Chappell, all of Halifax, VA; (9) sisters: Annie Jones (Richard) of New Haven, CT, Mary Hendricks, Mildred Jones, Shirley Boyd, Nancy Waller, all of Nathalie, VA, Carolyn Farmer, Elizabeth Chaney, Kathryn Baker and Belinda Word (Gordon), all of Halifax, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earnest Lee Chappell.

Graveside service for Mr. Bobbie Ray Chappell will be Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Bishop John Williams officiating.

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Following COVID -19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.
