Obituary
Mr. Bryant Lee Dunkley of South Boston, VA died Saturday, September 25th at the age of 85.
Mr. Dunkley was born in Halifax County, VA on April 30, 1936 to the late Gertrude Dunkley Chandler and was married to Janice Mae Womack Dunkley.
Mr. Dunkley is survived by his wife: Janice Mae Womack Dunkley of the home; (2) devoted nephews whom he raised as his sons: Rodney Logan (Faith) of South Boston, VA and Nathaniel (Ceclia) of Nathalie, VA; (7) grandchildren; (1) sister: Ella B. Dunkley of Albany, NY; (1) sister-in-law: Catherine Chandler; (2) brothers-in-law: Wayne Womack and David Womack and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the devoted Marvin Womack, Brandie Brooks, Alisa Smith and Edna Womack. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother: Robert C. Chandler and his favorite dog, BoBo.
Funeral services for Mr. Bryant Lee Dunkley will be Saturday, October 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax wit Rev. Dr. Otis R. Dillard, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Rose Garden Cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required. Seating will be limited to 50 people at the service.
