Mr. Calvin Thomas Hughes of Daniels Trail, Halifax, VA died Wednesday, February 16th at the age of 78.

Mr. Hughes was born in Halifax County on March 3, 1943 to the late Mr. John Henry Hughes and Virginia Coleman Hughes and was married to Geneva Dixon Hughes.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife: Geneva Dixon Hughes of the home; (2) son: Vincent Barksdale (Wanda) and Reginald Hughes, all of Halifax, VA; (1) daughter: Renita Hughes Knight (Keith) of Halifax, VA; (2) grandchildren; (1) brother: Chandler Hughes; (2) sisters: Bettye Robinson and Virginia Hughes; (1) aunt; (1) uncle; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Helen Hughes and Gracie Melvin and (1) brother: Henry Hughes.

Funeral services for Mr. Calvin Thomas Hughes will be held Monday, February 21st at 1:00 p.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev, Dr. Otis R. Dillard, eulogist. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

A face mask and social distancing is required at the services.
