Mrs. Carrie Lee Hart Chandler of South Boston died March 30th at the age of 68.

Mrs. Chandler was born in Halifax County, VA on February 5, 1953 to the late Willie James Hart and Arsue Edmondson Hart and was married to Frederick Chandler, Jr. She was a member of New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church and was employed at Pizza Hut Restaurant for over 30 years.

Mrs. Chandler is survived by her husband: Frederick Chandler, Jr. of the home; (3) children: Kelvin Chandler, Sr. (Kellie) of Milwaukee, WI, Devin Chandler of the home and Brandy Chandler of South Boston, VA; (9) grandchildren: Xavier, Tierra, Cpl. Terry Chandler (USMC), Kelvin,Jr., Tyrell, Frederick, Tremaine, Tevin and Kamari; (1) brother: Rogers Hart (Dorothy); (7) sisters: Doris Ann Womack (Melvin), Arnitha Terry (Gene), Janice Logan, Gladys White (Henry), Frances Mosley (Robert), Denise Bailey and Furness Jackson (Michael); (3) sisters-in-law: Gladys Harris, Anna Palmer (Howard) and Mary “Liz” Chandler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the devoted Delois Ferrell and Marquis Berkley.

Funeral service for Mrs. Carrie Lee Hart Chandler will be held Tuesday, April 6th at 11 am at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with District Elder William Terry, eulogist. Following COVID-19 guidelines seating is limited, a face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
