Ms. Catherine “Tassie” Chandler Harwell died Tuesday, September 28th at the age of 73.

Ms. Harwell was born in Halifax County, VA on July 13, 1948 to the late Mr. Reuben Chandler and Elizabeth Stovall Chandler. She was married to the late Rod Harwell and joined St. Paul CME Church at an early age.

Ms. Harwell is survived by (1) daughter: Kimberly Chandler-Holt (Robert); (5) grandchildren; (3) great grandchildren; (2) brothers: Reuben Chandler (Patricia) and Willie Chandler; (2) sisters: Helen Dean (Melvin) and Mary Womack (Robert); (2) aunts: Irene Edmonds and Hallie Stovall; (1) sister-in-law: Mary Elizabeth Chandler and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Annabelle and the Hartwell family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) brother: John “Pete” Chandler.

Memorial services for Ms. Catherine Chandler Harwell will be Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandra Brown, eulogist.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required. Seating will be limited to 50 people at the service.
