Mrs. Charlotte Ann Chappell Cole of South Boston, VA died Thursday, July 28th at Sentara Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville, VA at the age of 81.

Mrs. Cole was born in Maryland on January 9, 1941 to the late William Herbert Leigh and Nicy Powell Leigh. She was married to the late Kenneth Cole and previously to the late Harold Chappell and was a member of Greater Mayfield Apostolic Church.

Mrs. Cole is survived by (1) son: Kevin Chappell (Darlene); (16) grandchildren; (11) great grandchildren; (1) sister: Bettie Jean Leigh Dillard; (2) brothers: William Roger Leigh (Novella) and Herbert Ford Leigh (Cheryl); (1) brother-in-law: Elder Billy Ross; (1) aunt: Ruth Leigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Evangelist Lillie Hunt, Evangelist Catherine Talley, Pastor Carolyn Jackson and Beatrice Anderson. In addition to her parents, grandparents and spouses, Charlotte was preceded in death by (2) children: Jacqueline Tillery and Harold “June Bug” Chappell, Jr; (3) sisters: Deborah Leigh, Mildred Elaine Leigh Gold and Joan Odell Leigh Ross.

Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Ann Chappell Cole will be held Saturday, August 6th at 11:00 a.m. with services at Greater Mayfield Apostolic Church with District Elder Bernard Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday, one hour prior to the service. A face mask and social distancing is required.
