Christian Lamont Coles

March 10, 2006 - January 28, 2022

Obituary

On Friday, January 28, 2022, God called home our beloved Christian Lamont Coles, known to many as “Dubie” or “Camo King” at the age of 15. He was born March 10, 2006 in Halifax County , VA to Chris and Kim Sydnor Coles.

Christian was member of Ellis Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Even on his sickest days he pushed himself to get to church. Christian received education from Halifax County Public Schools and was home-schooled by his mom for the last two years.

Christian loved making people laugh, good food, spending time with his family, especially his dad. He had a greater love for the outdoors where he loved fishing and hunting. To him his biggest accomplishment was killing his first deer on his first day out with Banister River Hunting Club on the last day. Which gave him a nickname of “One Shot”.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his parents: Chris and Kim Coles of Halifax, VA, maternal grandparents: Willie and Betty Jean Sydnor of Nathalie; 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Carlos and Kristina, both of the home, Sierra, Shaniqua, and Chris Coles, all of South Boston, VA; maternal aunts: the devoted Veronica Sydnor of Clover, VA, Connie, and Diana Sydnor (Torrence) of Nathalie, VA; 5 paternal aunts and uncles, including the devoted Carolyn Jackson. A host of cousins, 4 nephews, other relatives and friends including devoted childhood friends: Breyer Matthews of Virgilina, VA, DeAvieyan Page of Scottsburg, VA and Gerald Hatcher of Nathalie, VA. Christian is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Clarence Coles and Lessie McCraw Coles; one uncle, Howard Coles and a very devoted cousin, Lakiesha Poindexter.

A private funeral service was held Friday, February 4th and burial was at Ellis Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, 2000 North Main Street, South Boston, VA .
