Mr. Clarence Lenwood Ewell, Sr. of Vernon Hill, VA died Friday, March 24th at the age of 72.

Mr. Ewell was born in Halifax County, VA on January 28, 1951 to the late Charlie P. Ewell, Sr. and Ossie Hendricks Ewell. He was married to the late Vernesta Jennings Ewell.

Mr. Ewell is survived by (3) daughters: Temika Hubbard (Ryann), Shanell Austin (Gregory), and LaToya Ewell, all of Roanoke, VA; (6) grandchildren; (6) siblings: Linda Terry of South Boston, VA, Charlie P. Ewell, Jr., Ralph L. Ewell (Carolyn), Herman R. Ewell, all of Crystall Hill, VA, Henry J. Ewell (Alice) of Scottsburg, VA and Earl E. Ewell of Queens, NY; (2) sisters-in-law; (1) brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones, including devoted friend, Rosa Harris of Vernon Hill, VA. In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by one son, Clarence L. “CJ” Ewell, Jr. and one brother, Walter E. Ewell.

Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Lenwood Ewell, Sr. will be held Saturday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m. with services at The Crawford House Chapel, 721 North Main Street, Halifax, VA with Rev. Robert Tucker, Jr. as eulogist.

Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Friday, March 31st from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
