Mrs. Daisy Mae Mitchell Tuck, of South Boston, VA  died  Saturday, October 9, 2021 at South Boston Rehab at the age of 74.

Mrs. Tuck was born in Halifax County, VA on November 26, 1947 to the late Roger Mitchell and Mucie Mitchell. She was formerly married to Vernett Alfred Roberts of Albany, NY to this union was born one daughter, Pastor Vernell Roberts Palmer (Jeffrey Jr.), she was also formerly married to William Henry Goode, II of Gaithersburg, MD to this union was born two children: Carolyn Denise Goode and William Henry Goode III, and is the widow of the late Arthur Randolph Tuck of Halifax, VA to this union was born two children: Brain LaPre Tuck (Kenny Scott) and Tanya Tuck Reynolds (Keith). She was a member of the New St. Luke House of Prayer & Praise Apostle Church in South Boston, VA, where she served as head of the Kitchen Auxiliary until her health would no longer allow her to serve.

In addition to her two daughters and son, she is survived by two sisters: Virginia Singh (Aubrey) of Danville, VA and Mucie Mitchell of Richmond, VA; two brothers: Aaron Mitchell (Barbara) of Gaithersburg, MD and Carlton Mitchell; one aunt: Golden Scott of South Boston, VA; 6 grandchildren: Minister David Roberts (Natalie) of Smithfield, VA, Jenell Kivuti (Richard), Jeffrey Palmer, III and Evangelist Jalessa Coleman (Amanual), all of Charlotte, NC, Isaiah Goode and Elijah Tuck (held dear to her heart), both of South Boston, VA; 5 great grandchildren: David, II, Jonathan, Nathan, Nahalie Roberts, Samuel Kivuti; special great niece: Lakresha Crowder (Deonta); special cousin; Golden Green, and devoted friends: Lillie Hamlett and Lillie Mae Ragland; her Pastor & First Lady, Bishop Harry J. Betts & Minister Hervoline Betts, and her church family and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, brothers and sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death two children: Carolyn Goode and William Goode, III; one granddaughter, Juanita Roberts; and one brother, Calvin Mitchell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Mae Mitchell Tuck will be Saturday, October 16th at 11:00 am at Greater Mayfield Apostolic Church, 1417 Elliott St. South Boston, VA 24592. Burial will follow in Rose Garden Cemetery. A face mask and social distancing is required. A limit of 50 people will be allowed at the service.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. The family will receive guests at the home Pastor Vernell Palmer, 1031 Charlie Lawson Rd, Virgilina, VA 24598. Condolences may be emailed to [email protected]
