Mr. David Arnell “Poo” Guthrie of Lincoln Drive, South Boston, VA died Thursday, November 4th at his residence at the age of 58.

Mr. Guthrie was born on December 23, 1962 to Mr. Robert Eugene Guthrie and Mrs. Gladys Chandler Harris. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Nathalie, VA and an employee of Firebird Manufacturing Company in South Boston, VA.

Mr. Guthrie is survived by his wife: Tracey C. Guthrie, of the home; (2) daughters: Dominique N. Guthrie and Shakita Chambers, both of South Boston, VA; (2) grandchildren: Zykeriah Chambers and Zymiah Palmer; his parents: Gladys Chandler Harris of South Boston, VA and Robert Eugene Guthrie of South Boston, VA; (1) sister: Pamela G. “Moo” Bae of Washington, D.C.; (2) brothers: Christopher E. Guthrie (Phyllis) of South Boston, VA and Robert W. Guthrie (Zelda) of Halifax, VA; (2) step-sisters: Karen H. Medley and Kisha Harris; his mother-in-law: Patricia A. Byrd; step mother-in-law: Diane Byrd; (2) brothers-in-law; (1) sister-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his first wife: Cynthia D. Guthrie, his step-father: George E. Harris; special devoted cousins: Stacey W. Majors and Timothy T. Chandler; and two devoted friends.

Graveside services for Mr. David Arnell Guthrie will be held Wednesday, November 10th at 1 p.m. with services at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Willie Yancey officiating. A face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Tuesday from noon to 6 p.m.
