Mrs. Dorothy Lee Brigham of South Boston, VA died Tuesday November 9th at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC at the age of 78.

Mrs. Brigham was born on November 8, 1943 in Halifax County, VA to the late Mr. James William Barksdale, Sr. and Mrs. Alice Frances Barksdale. She was married to the late Mr. John Wesley Brigham and was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brigham is survived by (3) daughters: Chandra Moore, Kyra Brigham and Johniqua Brigham; (4) grandchildren: Antoino Moore, Kaison Brigham, Kameron Brigham and Taylor Foster; (3) sisters: Alease Parson (Russell, Sr.), Sallie Nash (James) and Mildred Williams; numerous adopted children and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by (1) granddaughter: Tonisha (Shay) Anderson; and (1) brother: James Barksdale, Jr.

Graveside services for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Brigham will be held Tuesday, November 16th at 12:00 p.m. with services at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Nash officiating and Rev. Dwight L. Wilkerson as eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. A face mask and social distancing will be required.
