Mrs. Dorothy Chappell Mitchell of South Boston, VA died on Friday, December 9th at the age of 93.

Mrs. Mitchell was born on March 1, 1929 in Maryland to the late George Allen Chappell and Ella Crowder Chappell. She was married to the late John Junious Mitchell and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by (3) daughters: Audrey, Dorothy (Arthur) and Joyce (Daniel); (2) sons: Doyle (Michelle) and Darryl (Veronica); (6) grandchildren; (5) great grandchildren; (1) great great grandchild; devoted friend: Patricia Ford; caregivers: Gladys Frierson, Shavia Dixon and Janet Mitchell; and a host of other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: Kenny and (1) daughter: Jocelyn.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Chappell Mitchell will be Tuesday, December 20th at noon at Jeffress Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
