Mrs. Edna Buster Poindexter of Henrico County, VA and formerly of Halifax County, VA died Wednesday, December 8th at her residence at the age of 90.

Mrs. Poindexter was born in Halifax County, VA on March 30, 1931 to the late William Washington Buster and Annie Fleming Buster. She was married to the late Kenneth Poindexter and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Poindexter is survived by (4) daughters: Wanda Barksdale (Vincent), Vickie Poindexter, Renorma Majors (Kenneth) and Laura Harding (William); (2) sons: Edward Poindexter and Kent Poindexter (Annie); (23) grandchildren; (23) great grandchildren; (4) great great grandchildren; (1) brother: Leroy Hubbard; devoted honorary daughter: Mary Wright (Bill); devoted niece: Sandra Bailey; and devoted cousin: Cain Buster (Melba); and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones. Including her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by (1) son: Albert “Pete” Poindexter (Annie); (1) grandson: LaMario Majors; and (1) brother: Malachi “Fats” Buster (Carolyn).

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Buster Poindexter will be held Monday, December 13th at 11:00 a.m. with services at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. K. Anthony Jones officiating and Rev. Kent Poindexter as eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing was at Jeffress Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12th from noon until 6:00 p.m.
