On Saturday, September 10,2022, God called home our beloved brother, uncle, cousin Elisha Hunt Jr, affectionately known as “Bubba”. Elisha was born in Clover, VA on March 26,1954 to the late Elisha Hunt, Sr and Irene Goode-Hunt. Elisha received his formal education at Randolph Henry High School in Charlotte Court House, VA and graduated in 1976. After completing his education, Elisha joined the United States Air Force and where he had an honorable discharge.

Elisha accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Piney Grove Baptist Church of Saxe, Va. Elisha left Clover, Va in the 90’s and moved to Maryland in 1978 where he became a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.

Elisha leaves to cherish loving memories his sister, Barbara Hunt-Ellison of Richmond, Virginia; three brothers: Eddie Dean Hunt of Georgia, Nathaniel Goode and Paul Goode (Carolyn), all of Saxe, Virginia; five nieces: Zandra Hunt, Francheska Hunt, April Stuart, all of Richmond, Virginia, Kierra Gayles (Kenny) and Courtney Watts, all of Saxe, Virginia; four nephews: Joseph Hunt of Richmond, Virginia, Jonathan Goode of Washington, DC, Nathaniel Goode Jr of Arizona and Curtis Creighton of Richmond, Virginia; one aunt, Clarise Foster; and one great aunt, Lucy King. In addition to his parents, Irene Good Hunt and Elisha “HH” Hunt and grandparents: Elisha and Lillie Hunt and Giles and Lucille Goode, Elisha was preceded in death by two brothers: Vernon Hunt and Stanley Hunt; and one niece, Monica Goode-Watts.

Funeral service for Mr. Elisha Hunt, Jr. will be Saturday, September 17th at 2 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Saxe, VA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for Mr. Elisha Hunt, Jr. will be Friday noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
