Mrs. Eliza Brooks of Washington, DC and formerly of Clover, VA died on Sunday, March 7th at residence at the age of 83.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Clover, Virginia on May 22, 1937 to the late Waverly Lacks, Sr and Gladys Lacks and was married the late Edward N. Brooks, Sr. She worked at High’s/7-Eleven convenience store for over 35 years.

Mrs. Brooks leaves to cherish loving memories: (2) sons: Edward, Jr (Karen) and Lenwood (Monique); (5) grandchildren: Edward III, LoWaun, Lenise, James, and Dominic; (1) sister: Brenda Lacks; (1) brother: Alex (Nora); as well as a host of nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (2) brothers: Gary Lacks and Waverly “Tommy” Lacks.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Brooks will be held Friday, March 12th at 2 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Chandler, eulogist. Burial will follow in Lacks Town Family Cemetery. Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to service.

Following Covid-19 guidelines, seating will be limited, and a mask and social distancing is required.
