Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Wylie of Clover, VA died Monday, March 14th at the age of 90.

Mrs. Wylie was born in Halifax County, VA on July 4, 1931 to the late Nannie Lou Brooks and William Alexander Wylie and was married to the late George E. Powell.

Mrs. Wylie is survived by (7) children: George Powell, Henry Powell, Marshello Carrington, Clyde Powell, Lawrence Powell, Reba Mosley and Josephine Powell; (2) daughters-in-law: Minnie Wylie and Sandra Powell; (34) grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; (4) children: Norman, William, Carolyn Lee and Katrina; (7) brothers: Henry, William, Charlie, Jesse, Chessie, Ray and Curtis; (8) sisters: Ida, Alice, Josephine, Irene, Nannie, Dorothy, Coetta and Marie; and (2) grandchildren: Devonte Powell and Tevin Powell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Wylie will be held Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, with Rev. Mattie Carr, eulogist. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress. A face mask is required during the service.
