Mr. Gregory Tyrone Scott of South Boston, VA died on Tuesday, April 13th at his residence at the age of 52.

Mr. Scott was born June 17, 1968 in South Boston, VA to Elnora Delois Scott and John Arthur Scott. He was a United States Army Veteran retiring after 28 years of service and was currently the JROTC teacher at Halifax County Senior High School. Mr. Scott was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church.

Mr. Scott is survived by his mother: Elnora Delois Scott of South Boston, VA; his father: John Arthur Scott of Hartford, CT; (1) sister: Angela Evette Scott of South Boston, VA; (2) nieces: Takiara Shante Scott and ShaKiara Denise Scott, both of South Boston, VA; (1) uncle: Clem Boxley (Daryl); (4) aunts: Rosa Gee, Portia Wyatt, Mattie Smith, and Gail Wyatt; god mother: Gwendolyn Currie; (2) god sisters: Felica Currie Ferrell (Ronnie) and Pamela Currie; (1) god brother: Ervette Currie (Kaye); (5) godsons: Jabari Ferrell, William Davis, Jaxson Slade, Greyson Slade and Monzie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Gregory Tyrone Scott will be Sunday, April 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Halifax County Senior High School bus parking lot with Bishop Michael Byrd, eulogist. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery with military rites. Following COVID-19 guidelines a face mask and social distancing will be required at the service.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston, VA.
