Mr. Harvey Abraham Dillard of South Boston, VA died Friday, January 29th at the age of 90.

Mr. Dillard was born August 11, 1931 in Omar, West Virginia to the late Elder L.P. Dillard and Mrs. Lucy Belle Nappier. He was first married to the late Mrs. Othello Brown Dillard and later married Betty Jean Dillard. Mr. Dillard was a United States Army Veteran, a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in South Boston, VA and served 32 years in Halifax County Public Schools.

Mr. Dillard is survived by his wife: Betty Jean Dillard of South Boston, VA; (3) sons: Jerry Dillard (Pamela) of Mechanicsville, MD, Donald Dillard of Annandale, VA, and William Dillard (Michelle) of Charlotte, NC (1) grandson: Ryan Dillard of Charlotte, NC; (1) stepson: DeNorris Q. Leigh of Lynchburg, VA; (3) step granddaughters; (10) sisters-in-law; (2) brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by (1) brother: Percy Dillard.

At the request of the family, funeral services for Mr. Harvey Abraham Dillard will be private.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, February 11th from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston, VA.
