Ms. Hinda Varthur Lester of Roxboro, NC died on Friday, March 5th in Chapel Hill, NC  at the age of 76.

Ms. Lester was born March 7, 1944 in Halifax County to the late Mr. Lorenzo Lester and Mrs. Pattie Terrell Lester and at an early age joined White Oak Fork Baptist Church.

Ms. Lester is survived by (3) children: Henry Lester (Ann) of Roxboro, NC, Kelvin Lester of South Boston, VA and Maxine Edmonds of Roxboro, NC; (8) grandchildren; (6) great grandchildren; (1) brother: Lee Lester (Rosa) of Virgilina, VA; (2) nieces and a nephew that she raised: Estelle Murray of South Boston, VA and Sandra Coleman of Durham, NC and Julius Murray; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (2) sisters: Estelle Murray and Mary James and (1) brother: Howard Terrell.

Graveside services for Ms. Hinda V. Lester will be Friday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Lester, eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Following COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.
