Obituary

Mrs. Ianatha C. Lipscomb died Thursday, July 15th at the age of 75.


Mrs. Lipscomb was born in Halifax County, VA on February 9, 1946 to the late Barbara Chappell Stewart and Richard Watkins and was married to the late Harvey Lipscomb. She was first a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church and later joined First Baptist Church in South Boston, VA.


Mrs. Lipscomb is survived by (1) daughter: Kelley Lacks of South Boston, VA; (4) grandchildren; (8) great grandchildren; (1) half brother: Larry Watkins; (1) foster brother: Larry Scott; (5) sisters: Francine Moolenaar, Diana Watson, Patricia Watkins, Sheila Watkins, Therese Watkins; (4) aunts: Thelma Bryant, Sammye Holloway, Jeaan Winstead and Marion Carrington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Funeral service for Mrs. Ianatha Chappell Lipscomb will be Friday, July 23rd at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in South Boston, VA with Rev. Dr. Allan Smith, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. First Baptist regulation is that a mask must be worn, and social distance is required.


Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
