Ms. Ida Christine Young of Virgilina, VA died Thursday, January 19th at the age of 98.

Ms. Young was born in Halifax County, VA on May 9, 1924 to the late Willie Young and Elizabeth Stokes Young and was a member of First Baptist Church in Virgilina, VA.

Ms. Young is survived by (6) children: Rose Young (Leon), Margaret Young (Cecil), John Young (Linda), and Alice Ingram, all of Roxboro, NC, Stanley Young (Virnae) of South Boston, VA and James Young of Virgilina, VA; (1) granddaughter; (2) great grandsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (4) children: Francis, Garland, George, and Evelyn; (6) siblings: Elijah Vanderbuilt, Eva Irene, Mary Elizabeth, Willie McGuire, Martha Ann and Rose Marie.

Funeral services for Ms. Ida Christine Young will be Sunday, January 22nd at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Virgilina with Rev. Lorenzo love eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
