Mr. James M. Eldridge of Tampa, FL and formerly of Sutherlin, VA died on Tuesday, June 7th at the age of 83.

Mr. Eldridge was born in Sutherlin, VA on March 2, 1939 to the late Pleasant Eldridge and Evelyn Hogue Eldridge. He was married to Thelma Eldridge.

Mr. Eldridge is survived by his wife: Thelma Eldridge of Tampa, FL; (1) daughter: Valeria Davis of Tampa, FL; (2) sons: Calvin Motley of South Carolina and David Garrett of Knoxville, TN; (6) grandchildren: Rafael Davis, Kiara Davis, Alicia Smith, Robert Carter, Damaris Robertson and Brenden Wimbish; (3) great grandchildren; (3) sisters: Freddy Page of Baltimore, MD, Fanny Cruz and  Beatrice Harris, both of Halifax, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parent, Mr. Eldridge was preceded in death by (1) sister: Eunice Whitlock; and (2) brothers: Fred Eldridge and William Eldridge.

Graveside services for Mr. James M. Eldridge will be Saturday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Crews, eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. A face mask and social distancing is required.
