Mr. James Ricardo “Ricky” Gee of South Boston, VA died Tuesday, December 28th at South Boston Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 69.

Mr. Gee was born on October 21, 1952 to Rosa Shorts Gee and the late Willis Alphonso Gee. He was married to the late Sherri Lynn Byrd Gee and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the American Legion Post 99 in South Boston, VA.

Mr. Gee is survived by (1) daughter: Patrice Owen of High Point, NC; (3) granddaughters: Chaquia  "Chaq" Gee of Fayetteville, NC, Trinity " Buddy Buddy" Owen of High Point, NC and Charity " Boo Boo" Owen of Greensboro, NC; (1) great grandson: Kylen Crawford of High Point, NC; his mother: Rosa Gee of High Point, NC; (1) brother: Willis Gee (Anna) of Richmond, VA; (1) sister-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews including Nicholas Hughes and Zakelah Gee; and numerous other relatives and friends. In addition to his father and wife, James was preceded in death by (3) brothers: Mike Faulkner, Ronald D. Gee and Ralph “Chico” Gee.

Funeral services for Mr. James Ricardo “Ricky” Gee will be held Saturday, January 8th at 11:00 a.m. with services at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Michael Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m.

Following COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required at all viewing and services.
