Mr. James Edward Sims, Jr. died on Monday, May 30th at the age of 69.

Mr. Sims was born November 20, 1952 in Halifax County, Virginia to Rose Marie Delaware Sims and the late James Edward Sims, Sr. He was a United States Army Veteran and member of American Legion Post 1097 and the VFW.

Mr. Sims is survived by (1) daughter: Su Sims (Eric Greene) of Danville, VA; (1) son: Mark Anthony Ferrell (Whitney) of Alabama; (4) grandchildren; (5) greatgrandchildren; his mother: Rose Marie Sims of Clover, VA; (1) brother: John Henry Delaware (Bettie) of Clover, VA; (1) niece; (3) nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends, including the devoted Pamela Dabbs.

Funeral services for James Edward, Sims, Jr. will be Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Moses Dixon, eulogist. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, June 3rd from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. A face mask and social distancing is required.
