Mrs. Jannie Hughes Robertson of South Boston, VA died on Saturday, November 12th at her residence at the age of 104.

Mrs. Robertson was born in South Boston, VA on October 28, 1918 to the late Willie Jasper Hughes and Estelle Tucker Hughes. She was married to the late Sylvester Robertson and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by (8) daughters: Mary E. Minor, Estelle Sullivan, Kate Lurry (Theodore), Cora Wilson, Bertha Delaware, Evangelist Catherine Talley (Ervin), Elder Joan Robertson and Minister Earnestine Smalls (Irvin); (4) sons: John Robertson (Rita), Deacon Wallace Robertson (Annette), Pastor Leonard Robertson (Sandra) and Robert L. Robertson (Jennifer); (38) grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; (1) sister-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (3) sons: Sylvester, Joe Willie and Fred Thomas; (1) sister: Hattie Pearson; and (4) brothers: John Robert, Cecil, Thomas and Elizah.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jannie Hughes Robertson will be Saturday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. at South Boston Church of God with Rev. Frederick Eily, eulogist. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 8:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
