Mr. Joseph “Joe” Wilborne of Clover, VA died Monday, January 2nd at the age of 91.

Mr. Wilborne was born in Halifax County, VA on May 12, 1931 to the late Ned Wilborne and Alvergia Wilborne and was married to Vivian Greene Wilborne. He was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Wilborne is survived by his wife: Vivian Wilborne of the home; (2) daughters: Cassandra Chandler and Sherry Wilborne; (1) son: Tyree Wilborne (Shawnya); (1) son-in-law: Joe “Dick” Sims; (2) sisters-in-law: Viola Thomas and Mary Eva Cousins; (8) grandchildren; (6) great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (1) daughter: Pamela Sims; (1) grandson: Jason Chandler; (3) brothers: Jacob Wilborne, James Wilborne and Ernest Wilborne; and (5) sisters: Martha Coleman, Marlene Cherry, Ellen Epperson, Betty Cousins and Mary Collins.

Funeral service for Mr. Joseph “Joe” Wilborne will be Saturday, January 7th at 2 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin Bowman, eulogist. Burial will follow in the Wilborne Family Cemetery with military rites by United States Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 99.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
