Ms. Joyce Lee “JoJo” Mills of South Boston died Wednesday, May 26th at the age of 70.

Ms. Mills was born in Halifax County, VA on March 19,1951 to the late Arlydia Medley Barksdale.

Ms. Mills is survived by her (10) children: Bryant Mills of Atlanta, GA, Valerie Mills, North Carolina, Joynita Mills of Halifax, VA, Leslie Mills of Prince George, VA, Sherry Mills of Blanch, NC, Darrell Mills of Roxboro, NC, Timothy Mills, Eurika Mills, Dexter Mills, all of South Boston and Jonathan Mills of Chesterfield, VA; (27) grandchildren; (17) great grandchildren; (1) sister: Ruby Walker of South Boston, VA; (1) brother: Larry Jones of Halifax, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by (1) brother: Ricky Barksdale and devoted partner: Johnnie Brandon.

Funeral services for Ms. Joyce Lee “JoJo” Mills will be held Wednesday, June 2nd at 2 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with Bishop John Williams officiating. Burial will follow at The Banister Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Following COVID -19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing will be at The Crawford House Chapel on Tuesday from noon until 6:00 p.m.
