Mrs. Katherine Ann Doomes of Piney Grove Rd, Alton, VA died Thursday, July 7th at her residence at the age of 61.

Mrs. Doomes was born in Halifax County, VA on May 6, 1961 to Linda Ann Clay Conner and the late Grover Wilson Conner. She was married to Melvin Mitchell Doomes and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Doomes is survived by her husband: Melvin Mitchell Doomes of the home; (2) daughters: Jessica Clay (Wayne) and Terri Conner, both of Roxboro, NC; (3) sons: Grover Wilson Conner (Wendy L.), Timothy Lee Conner (Wendy T.), both of South Boston, VA and Jerry Wayne Conner of Roxboro, NC; (14) grandchildren; (6) great grandchildren; her mother: Linda Ann Conner of South Boston, VA; (6) sisters: Nettie Conner, Deborah Ann Conner, Alice L. Conner, Joyce M. Conner, Tammy W. Conner and Dorothy M. Conner; (2) brothers: Jeffrey L. Conner (Lenora) and James W. Conner (Casey); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including, her best friend, Helen Womack.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Ann Doomes will be held Tuesday, July 12th at 3:00 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev. Harvey Bigelow as eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.

A face mask and social distancing is required.
