Mrs. Kathleen Bailey “Kat” of Crystal Hill, VA died Tuesday, May 5th at the age of 90.

Mrs. Baily was born in Halifax County on April 18, 1932 to the late Jacob Simmons and Leanna Brown Simmons. She was married to the late James Alex Bailey and at an early age joined Ellis Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by (4) sons: Darnell Bailey, Elmer Ray Baily and Danny Bailey, Sr. (Ann), all of Crystal Hill, VA and James Tyree Bailey of Roxboro, NC; (1) daughter: Marilyn (Norris) Bailey (Barry) of Vernon Hill, VA; (2) sisters: Gracie Tiller and Rose Cherry; (2) brothers: Clinton Simmons (Ruth) and Leon Simmons; (18) grandchildren; (50) great grandchildren; (10) great great grandchildren; (1) sister-in-law: Lenna Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: Ellis Grey Bailey; (2) brothers: Richard Simmons and Leroy Simmons; and (1) sister: Irene L. Simmons Jennings.

Funeral service for Mrs. Kathleen Bailey will be held Friday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with Rev. Julian Miller, eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Thursday from noon until 6 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel.
