Mrs. Learlean Sydnor Hemphill of Washington, DC and formerly of Gladys, VA died on Wednesday, March 3rd at the age of 102.

Mrs. Hemphill was born August 7, 1918 in Gladys, VA to the late Willie Sydnor and Fannie Miller Sydnor, and was married to the late Marvin D. Hemphill.

Mrs. Hemphill is survived by (2) children: Mary Hemphill and Anthony Davis; (4) grandchildren: Troy Hemphill (Ericka), Anthony, Aaron, and Leena Davis; (5) great-grandchildren: Kiyah, Aniyah, and Xavier Hemphill, Aaliyah and Jayshon Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Clarissa, Hazel, Adell, Florence, Hattie, Janie, Hester, Willie, Jr., Aaron, Huey, Albert, Harold, Charlie, Wesley and Opie.

Graveside services for Mrs. Learlean Sydnor Hemphill will be Thursday, March 11th at noon at Millstone Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Crews, eulogist.

Public viewing for Mrs. Learlean Sydnor Hemphill will be Wednesday, March 10th from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. Following COVID-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required at the service.
