Mr. Leroy Nathaniel Simmons of Halifax, VA died on Sunday, May 30th at the age of 93.

Mr. Simmons was born in Halifax County, VA on April 23, 1928 to the late Mr. Jacob Simmons and Mrs. Leanna Brown Simmons. He was married to Mrs. Noelena Simmons and was a member of Ellis Creek Baptist Church. Leroy was employed for many years with LaGuardia Airport working for various airlines.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife: Noelena Simmons of the home; children: Rodney Simmons, Sasheen Simmons and Carmen Cain; sisters: Kathleen Bailey, Gracie Tillar and Rose Ella Cherry; brothers: Clinton Simmons (Ruth) and Leon Simmons (Sylvia); grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Funeral service for Leroy Nathaniel Simmons will be Saturday, June 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home with Rev. Julian K. Miller, eulogist. Burial will follow at Ellis Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday one hour prior to the service.
