Mr. Lewis Jones of Halifax, VA died Wednesday, May 3rd at the age of 85.

Mr. Jones was born in Halifax County, VA. on April 4, 1938 to the late Bennie Jones and Cordie Davis Jones and was married to Forestine Glass Jones. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Java, VA and a former employee of Burlington Industries.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Forestine Jones of the home; his children: Sharon Brown, Kevin Michael Jones (Elsie), Shelia Brandon and Christopher Jones (Vanessa); (5) grandchildren; (5) great grandchildren; (3) brothers: James Jones (Thelma), George Jones (Carolyn) and Leroy Jones (Anita); (2) sisters: Ruby Williams and Catherine Stephens (William). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (2) brothers: Temple Jones and Harold Jones.

Funeral services for Mr. Lewis Jones will be Monday, May 8th at noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Java, VA. Burial will follow in church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service.
