Mrs. Lina Miller Taylor died on Wednesday, December 8th at the age of 72.

Mrs. Taylor was born August 31, 1949 in Pennsylvania to Joannah Stanfield Herbert and the late Ernest Cornick and was married to Ronald Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by s her loving mother, Joannah Stanfield Herbert of South Boston, VA, her loving and always supportive husband, Ronald C. Taylor “Deek” of South Boston, VA and her only child, her daughter, Doreena M. Owen (Avery) of Halifax, VA; three granddaughters, Tiara Owen of Virgilina, VA, Briyana Palmer (Keith) of Clover, Virginia, and Chinaiya Owen of Richmond, VA; and one grandson, Avery Owen Jr. of Halifax, VA; one great granddaughter, Nova, known to her as “Pooda” of Clover, VA; five younger siblings; Clifton Herbert, Louis J. Herbert, Jr., Joan Martin (Reginald) of South Boston, VA, Deborah Chandler (Miles) of Fort Worth, TX and Dion, of Alabama; brother-in-law, Aubrey Collier (Nadirah Ahmed) of Philadelphia, PA, sisters-in-law, Dwelleta “Penny” Collier Bryant of Philadelphia, PA and Corinne “Corrie” Collier of Dallas, TX; nieces and nephews, Kellie Martin (Dion “Shug”), Yolanda Chandler, Clifton “Travis” Herbert, Brandy Martin, Dr. Sharonne Herbert, and Brittany Chandler; great-nieces and great-nephews, Vierra Wyatt (Zakia), NiAirelle Martin, Seth Hardy, Jaidyn Chandler, Hannah Holmes, Harmoni Tillman, Blu Chandler, and Khash Chandler; one great-great nephew, Kyair Martin; last but certainly not least a lifetime friend, Lavon Miller of Philadelphia, PA. Ronald Taylor of the home; (1) daughter: Doreena Owen (Avery) of South Boston, VA; (4) grandchildren; (1) great grandchild; her mother: Joannah Herbert of South Boston, VA; (2) sisters: Joan Martin (Reginald) of Halifax, VA and Deborah Chandler (Miles) of Dallas, TX; (2) brothers: Clifton Herbert and Louis Herbert, Jr., both of South Boston, VA; (3) nieces; (3) nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Mrs. Lina Miller Taylor will be Thursday, December 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Halifax Memorial Gardens, South Boston, VA with Rev. Charles A. Chandler, eulogist.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home. A face mask and social distancing will be required.
