Ms. Lucy Williams Norwood died Tuesday, September 14th at the age of 88.

Ms. Norwood was born in Halifax County, VA on April 2, 1933 to the late Robert Cornelius Williams and Mary Stanfield Williams and was formerly married to the late Henry Norwood. She was a member of Jeter Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industry in Halifax, VA.

Ms. Norwood is survived by (1) son: Troy Norwood of South Boston, VA; (3) daughters: Gale Pendleton of Apollo Beach, FL, Benita Hamilton of Danville, VA and Shelia Guy (Alvin) of South Boston, VA; (1) brother: Durbert Williams; (14) grandchildren; (21) great grandchildren; (2) god sons: Carlos Buster and Gary Suitt; (2) god daughters: Rozelle Carrington and Patsy Steton; (1) daughter-in-law: Rhonda Norwood; (6) sisters-in-law; (2) brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by (2) sons: Elroy Williams and Warrick Norwood; (5) sisters: Ruby Hudson, Marie Wilkins, Clarice Boxley, Clara Boxley and Carolyn Buster and (3) brothers: Robert Williams, Marlyn Williams and Landron Clayton Williams.

Funeral services for Ms. Lucy Williams Norwood will be Saturday, September 18th at 11 a.m. at Jeter Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Watkins, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Following Covid-19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required at the service. Seating will be limited to 50 people at the service.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
