Mrs. Margaret Ann Majors Carter of Halifax, VA died on Friday, August 13th at the age of 80.

Mrs. Carter was born March 12, 1941 in Halifax County, VA to the late Abner Majors and Dorothy Edmondson Majors. She was married to the late Robert Billy Carter and was a member of St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Carter is survived by (2) sons: Robert Carter (Elon) of Hurdle Mills, NC and Christopher Carter of Halifax, VA; (8) grandchildren; (7) great grandchildren; (2) non biological great grandchildren; (1) brother: Lawrence Majors of Brookneal, VA; extended family: Marilyn Jackson and Tiffany Richardson.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (2) daughters: Rillia Diane Majors and Annette Majors Coleman; and (8) brothers: Victor Majors, James Majors, Lewis Majors, Willie Majors, Artie Majors, John Majors, Henry Majors and Robert Majors.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Majors Carter will be Thursday, August 19th at 1 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax with Rev. Willis Farrington officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday, August 18th at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel from noon until 6:00 p.m.
