Mrs. Marjorie Thompson Coleman of South Boston, VA died on Wednesday, February 23rd at her residence at the age of 85.
Mrs. Coleman was born October 6, 1936 in Halifax County, VA to John Willis Thompson and Leonia Henry Thompson. She was married to the late Bernard Webster Coleman and was a member of County Line Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Coleman worked in public transportation for Halifax County School System for 21 years.
Mrs. Coleman is survived by (1) son: Webster Jerome Coleman (Megan) of Upper Marlboro, MD; (4) daughters: Wanda C. Edmonds (Paul) and Judith C. Winstead, all of South Boston, VA, Pamela C. Cheek (Charles) of Clinton, MD and Shelia C. Hoxie of Queenstown, MD; (17) grandchildren; (16) great grandchildren; (1) sister: Virginia Banks of Newark, NJ, (1) brother: Inman Thompson (Dorothy) of Willingboro, NJ; (1) son-in-law: William Haley; (1) sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (1) son: Bernard R. Coleman; (1) daughter: Leonia C. Burrell; (2) grandchildren: Aaron Burrell and Delvin Edmonds; (1) sister: Carolyn Gorsuch; (1) brother: Horace Thompson; and (2) sons in-law: Robert Winstead and David Hoxie.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Thompson Coleman will be Saturday, February 26th at 11:00 a.m. at The Crawford House Chapel with Rev. Edward Pope, eulogist. Burial will follow at County Line Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday at Jeffress funeral Home from noon until 6:00 p.m. A face mask is for viewing and service.
