Mrs. Mary Ellen Hensley Battle of Holly Court, Halifax, VA died Monday, November 1st at South Boston Health & Rehabilitation at the age of 78.

Mrs. Battle was born on June 20, 1943 in South Boston, VA to the late Mr. Clarence Hensley and Mrs. Florence Hensley.

Mrs. battle is survived by (1) daughter: Cheri Smith (Gary Smith, Jr.) of Fayetteville, NC; (2) sons: Lionel Hensley (Verrett) of Greensboro, NC and Darren Caison (Angela) of South Boston, VA; (3) sisters: Sarah Jackson, Alma “Louise” Edmonds and Darlene Hensley, all of South Boston, VA; (1) brother: Clarence “Bubba” Hensley, Jr. (Rosa Lee) of Alexandria, VA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and beloved friends.
