Mrs. Mary Logan Pounds of Halifax, VA died on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the age of 92.

Mrs. Pounds was born May 5, 1929 in Halifax County, VA to the late Arthur Logan and Nannie Easley Logan and was married to the late Billy Pounds. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Halifax, VA.

Mrs. Pounds is survived by (1) sister: Mattie Hidleburg, of Philadelphia, PA; (1) brother: James Logan of Philadelphia, PA; Linda Logan-Lewis of Philadelphia, PA whom she called her daughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (3) brothers: Herman Logan, Charlie Logan and John B. Logan, Sr; and (3) sisters: Laura Logan, Lucy Logan and Nannie Ellen Logan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Logan Pounds will be held Saturday, February 26th at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, Halifax, VA with Rev. DeWayne Mack, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday, from noon until 6:00 p. m. at Jeffress funeral Home, South Boston, VA.

A mask and social distancing is required at the service.
