Mrs. Nakia Nicole “KIA” Claiborne Harris of Scottsburg, VA died Wednesday, February 1st at the age of 41.

Mrs. Harris was born on November 3, 1981 in Halifax County, VA to Rev. Dr. Ronald K. Claiborne and Gloria E. Ferrell Claiborne. She was married to Ossie A. Harris, Jr. and was an employee of Walmart Corporation. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her husband: Ossie A. Harris, Jr.; her parents: Rev. Dr. Ronald K. Claiborne and Gloria E. Ferrell Claiborne; (2) sisters: Renae M. Claiborne (Jeron) and Sharonda M. Claiborne; (2) adopted sisters: LaShawn Claiborne and DeShawn Claiborne; grandmother: Catherine E. Ferrell; (2) nieces; (6) nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ossie A. Harris, Sr. and Annie S. Harris; (1) brother-in-law; (1) sister-in-law; (3) aunts; (6) uncles; a devoted god mother: Shirley Owen; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nakia Nicole “KIA” Claiborne Harris will be held Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. with services at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Scottsburg, VA with Rev. Dr. Ronald K. Claiborne as eulogist. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Nathalie, VA.

Public viewing will be at Jeffress Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
