Mrs. Nannie Martha Gilmore Garrett died Wednesday, July 14th at the age of 98.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Person County, NC on December 13, 1922 to the late Sherman H. Gilmore and Nannie P. Jones Gilmore and was married to the late Julius Garrett, Jr. She was an educator in the Halifax County Public Schools for over 30 years.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by (1) daughter: Dandra P. Garrett of Rocky Mt, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mrs. Nannie Martha Gilmore Garrett will be Thursday, July 22nd at noon at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Semora, NC with Mr. James Medley, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
