Mr. Van Pleasant, Jr. of Clover, VA died Monday, December 5th at the age of 73.

 

Mr. Pleasant was born March 9, 1950 in New York City to Gladys Dickerson Pleasant, and the late Van Pleasant, Sr. He was formerly employed with New York City Transit Authority as a Conductor, and later promoted to motorman.

 

Mr. Pleasant is survived by his mother: Gladys L. Pleasant of South Boston, VA;  (2) sons: Anthony Pleasant of New York City,  and Luther A. Pleasant of Brooklyn, NY; (2) grandsons: Isayya and Andrew; (1) sister, Joyce Pleasant Crews (William) of South Boston, VA;  (1) brother, Larry Pleasant (Jeanne) of Bloomfield, CT; (5) nieces; (1) nephew; (2) great nephews; (2) great nieces; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his father, Mr. pleasant was preceded in death by (1) son, Van Pleasant, III.

Memorial services for Mr. Van Pleasant, Jr. will be Sunday, December 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
