Mrs. Julia Francis Berkley of Vernon Hill, VA died on Wednesday, December 27th at the age of 84.

Mrs. Berkley was born May 28, 1939 in Pennsylvania County, VA to the late Luther Stephens and Mildred Dixon Stephens and was married to the late Carl Berkley. She a member of County Line Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Halifax County Public Schools.

Mrs. Berkley is survived by (1) son, Larry W. Berkley (Helaina) of Vernon Hill, VA; (3) grandchildren: Nathan Berkley, Marquis Berkley, and Alesha Rome (Daryl); (2) great grandchildren; (2) daughters-in-law: Wanda L. Berkley and Nancy Berkley; (1) sister, Clariene Stephens of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by (2) sons: Nathan Levy Berkley and Carl Wilson Berkley; (1) brother, John Robert Stephens; and (1) sister, Shirley Temper Stephens.

Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Berkley will be Saturday, December 30th at 2:00 p.m. at County Line Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Otis Dillard, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to service on Saturday.
