Rev. Pauline Chalmers Johnson of Halifax, VA died Sunday, June 30th at the age of 94.

Rev. Johnson was born in Halifax County, VA on March 27, 1930 to James Henry Chalmers and Lizzie Long Chalmers. She was married to Leonard Alexander Johnson and was a member of Williams Temple C.M.E. Church where she served as a licensed minister.

Rev. Johnson is survived by (6) children who were a blessing: Louvonia Johnson Boone (Anthony Wayne Boone), Joseph E. Johnson, Sr. (Yvonne F. Johnson), Gerald W. Johnson (Mi Johnson), Deborah F. Johnson, Lenora J. Saffell, and Mary W. Patterson (Kevin Patterson); (11) grandchildren; (4) great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  dear friends, community and church members. Rev. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Leonard A. Johnson, (1) grandson, Joseph E. Johnson, Jr.; (7) sisters and (8) brothers.

Funeral services for Rev. Pauline Chalmers Johnson will be held Saturday, July 6th at 11 a.m. at Williams Temple C.M.E. Church with Rev. Andre Williamson, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

​

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6:00 with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
