Mr. Charles Edward Martin of Halifax, VA died on Friday, July 19th at the age of 83.

 

Mr. Martin was born October 29, 1940 in Halifax, VA to the late Paul Martin and Mary Peachie Hockett Martin. He was married to Grindle Womack Martin and was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Martin was a retired United States Army Veteran.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Grindle Martin of the home; (1) daughter, Kimberly Fearrington (Scott); (1) grandson, Jermaine Fearrington, Jr.; (1) sister, Arlyce Edmondson; (2) sisters-in-law; (3) brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by (7) siblings: Beverly Martin, Paul Martin, Dorothy Lovelace, Ernest Martin, Florence Wood, James Martin and Curtis Martin.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Edward Martin will be Saturday, July 27th at noon at Banister Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William Carr, eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel, Halifax, VA.
