Mr. William Eugene Dixon, Sr. of Halifax, VA died Thursday, August 1st at the age of 87.

Mr. Dixon was born on September 14, 1936 in Halifax County, VA to the late Pastor Willie Eugene Dixon and Pastor Elizabeth Williams Dixon. He was married to Vivian Smith Dixon and was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of The Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Vivian Smith Dixon of the home; (9) children: William, Darnell (Donna), Carnell (Vernesta), Albert  (Rochelle), Herbert, George, Sean, Ryan (Janet) and Dayna (Marlyn); (11) grandchildren; several great grandchildren; (1) sister, Alice Dixon Sims; (1) brother, James Dixon; (6) sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by (1) son, Ray; and (1) brother, Keith.

Funeral services for Mr. William Eugene Dixon, Sr. will be Friday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. William F. Carr, eulogist. Burial will follow in Union Grove C.M.E. Church Cemetery.

Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday one hour prior to the service.
